Christian Education
Northminster provides a variety of Christian Education opportunities for children, youth and adults. This year, Christian Education at Northminster Presbyterian Church will follow the Lectionary calendar from the pulpit to Children's Time, to the Sunday Church School classroom for ages 3 through adult. We have adopted "Seasons of the Spirit", a reformed international lectionary-based Church School curriculum that "builds strong faith communities by centering the ministries of Christian education, worship and service around common scriptures each week." Through use of activities, discussion, current events and the arts, we hope to be "on the same page" together each week. You may preview our curriculum at Seasons of the Spirit or by stopping by the Christian Education office.

Church School in September
In the second half of this Season after Pentecost, music, story, and image call us to a journey of love, compassion, humility, justice, and infinite possibilities.
On September 5, our preschoolers will discover that we belong to a church family who learns together about God’s love when we talk about Paul’s letter to Philemon. Grades K-12th will worship this Sunday in the Sanctuary.
On September 12, our focus scripture will be 1Timothy1:12-17.the children will consider how Paul was changed and how we can grow and change with God’s love. How are we transformed?
On September 19, the Church School will consider 1Timothy 2:1-7. There are many ways to pray. Timothy and his friends were encouraged to pray for everyone. How might prayerful living strengthen us to work for justice, even as we pray for God’s shalom?
September 26 finds the children returning to the Hebrew Bible to consider Jeremiah 32:1-3a, 6-15 as they learn of God’s surprising message of hope. What are we willing to sacrifice so that we might make a surprising investment in God’s eternal ways?
