Families

Everyone is welcome here!

All of our activities are open to single people, couples, single parents and families with children. We celebrate the whole household of God. Activities are planned for growth, learning and just plain fun! Our families come in all shapes and sizes and there is a place for you here in our Northminster family.

Birthday Party for Baby Jesus

Please join the Church School in Calvin Hall at 10:00 a.m. for our Birthday Party for Baby Jesus on December 21.  If you can make a dozen cupcakes for our celebration, please let Debbie Bulloff   know by December 17.

Parents with a Passion

We are parents of all ages, with kids of all ages - our common goals are becoming better parents and helping each other become better parents. Sometimes we use books about parenting to guide our discussions, but more often we just talk about our recent challenges, successes and funny kid stories. Our conversations are engaging, enlightening and very honest! We also adopt family-friendly, mini-mission projects that can be accomplished in one or two days - a great way to work together as a family and as a church family.

We meet 6:15 p.m. - 7:25 p.m. at the church and begin meeting in late August, continuing through mid-February - anyone can join the group anytime. Happily married, not-so-happily married, single, divorced, widowed, cohabiting, whatever - all are welcome! Feel free to contact Ruth Moore or Andi Martin with any questions at 317.251.9489.

As an added bonus, dinner is available at 5:30 p.m. for just $3.50 (adults) or $2.50 (children). Dinner reservations can be made by contacting Debbie Bulloff at 317.251.9489. We also offer homework help and childcare. Hope to see you!

Wednesday Night Dinners

Kid-Friendly, Guaranteed! On Wednesday evenings, casual, family-friendly, affordable dinners are available 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. If you are coming for Celebration Choir, Peace Choir, Chancel Choir or Wednesday evening programming and want kid-appealing dinners like spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, veggies, salad, fruit and/or peanut butter and jelly, Northminster is the dinner location for you. Please register in the church office by Tuesday each week so we'll have enough food for everyone. Dinner reservations can be made by contacting Debbie Bulloff at 317.251.9489.

Vacation Bible School

Held every summer in June. Next year's Vacation Bible School, "We will follow Jesus" will be held June 15-19, 2009. Look for more details here closer to the date.

Pokagon Family Retreat

This Biennial weekend retreat is held at Pokagon State Park in Angola Indiana. We toboggan, cross-country ski, bird watching, craft, play games and worship together. Our next retreat weekend is scheduled for February 1-3, 2010.

Easter Egg Hunt

This community event is generally held the Saturday before Palm Sunday each year. Nearly 2,500 plastic eggs are stuffed by our Girl Scouts, hidden by volunteers and found by children (toddlers -  5th Grade). The event is held rain or shine! Watch for the banner outside the church.

Dinner before Christmas Lite

Angels and shepherds will appear the evening of December 3, 2008 at the dinner before Northminster's annual musical Christmas gift to the Broad Ripple neighborhood.  Dinner reservations are necessary and can be made by contacting Debbie Bulloff  or by calling the church office at 317.251.9489.
