Vacation Bible School 2011 - "Heifer: Feeding 5,000!"

Our Summer 2011 Vacation Bible School will take place from June 13-16, 5:45 to 8:00 pm each evening.  VBS at Northminster is for children, ages 4 (by April 1, 2011) through Middle School.  Our Mission Project all week will focus on Heifer International

Heifer Stories for VBS 2011

Noah’s Ark  Noah is charged by God to save the animals.  Animals that Heifer provides. Genesis 6: 5-9:17

Ezekiel Renewal of spirit of the people of Israel. Heifer renews hope for self-sufficiency throughout the world.  Ezekiel 37: 1-14  African American Spiritual “Dry Bones”

Samaritan Woman at the Well  Tell the story of transformation and living water. Highlights WiLD program. John 4: 1-42

The Incarnation  Hear the story of St. Francis of Assisi and how he developed the crèche as a witness to the birth of the Christ Child.  Could do “The Friendly Beasts” with animals that Heifer uses. John 1:1, 14  Luke 2:1-7

Feeding of the 5000  Jesus feeds us in many ways. Learn how fish have been the subject in miracles, Christian art, the Church and Heifer. John 6:14  

The Great Commandment Love your neighbor. Who is my neighbor? Heifer trains people in sustainable agriculture including organic gardening. Matthew 23: 34-40  Mark 12: 28-34 Luke 10: 25-28

Paul’s Conversion  Saul becomes Paul.  Dan West testifies how his faith led him to found Heifer. Acts 9

The Lord’s Prayer  Jesus, teach us to pray.  How the resources of the Earth are unevenly distributed and how Heifer is working to eliminate world hunger and poverty. Matthew 6: 9-25 Luke 11: 1-4
