May 14 delayed

Nothing goes as planned and until today I was handling that alright.  But today I am in tears from fatigue and frustration and being just plain fed up.

Thomas called over 30 hours ago to say Sara’s water had broken and they were going to the hospital.  I called once to check on them and it took me about three hours to get them.  Finally, this morning they called to say Linus Alexander Taylor had been born on May 14th at about 1:30 AM New York time.  He is healthy and beautiful and Sara is tired and Thomas is glowing- I can hear it in his voice.

I want to see my grandson and Thomas has already sent a photo by email.  I go to the office to find out why the internet is not working in the guest house.  She comes and tries the CDM.  It will not work, I cannot get on line.  We take a taxi to the Piazza.  Another taxi to Mexico Square.  At a big hotel I go to the business center and pay for internet access.  After 20 minutes I finally reach the Comcast page and sign in but it will not open to my email.  We go looking for the office that sells the CDM.  I will pay the $300 to buy one to get my email on my computer and see my grandson.  It is pouring rain- we are walking through mud and s*&t and urine trying to find the store.  We end up in the wrong place five times.  It is pouring now and we are completely lost.   We will go back to the guest house and try again tomorrow.  Meanwhile Jack has lost the cell phone , the taxi driver has over charged us to get back to our room and the laundry has disappeared from the clothes line outside.

I make a cup of tea and sit down and cry.  All I want is to see my baby grandson.  Just this once cannot something please go right.  I guess  not.

But later, Michael Weller shows up at the guest house with a computer and a wireless device and I am allowed to see a photo of Linus for the first time.  He is beautiful and looks so much like Thomas did when he was born.  I can't wait to get my hands on this kid.

Life is good again and i am having a great time.  My frustration has been relieved.  Thanks to Michael.

Travel is full of surprises-- missing clothing, no internet connection..delays and frustrations---Good News here-- Just to confirm....some things do go right! Not always as planned but.... Yesterday I found a Ford 150 pickup truck for the Eritreans Mussie and Yodit.. not only is it a solid, mechanically sound and decently running vehicle-- it is absolutely Free! and nicer looking than John Wrights! Stay cool and travel safe, greetings to grandpa jack -- mazel tov bobele! We are enjoying the variety of guest preachers but look forward to your safe return
