Family Promise Food Delivery

Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

As part of our continuing commitment to Family Promise, we have the opportunity to prepare and deliver a meal to a family in the Apartment Shelter Project. Northminster has signed up for at least one family for the four Thursdays in April (April 6, 13, 20, 27). If there is enough interest, we can add additional families, also in April, or sign up for an additional month.

We are proposing 3 “cooks” per family each Thursday, to prepare a meal to include entrée, bread, salad or veggie, fruit, and dessert. If serving is large enough for leftovers, that is great! The 3-cook team will decide on who is preparing/providing which part of the meal.

Two weeks ahead we will find out the size and location of the family. Drop-off of meals is on Thursdays at 6 pm to the porch, without the need to enter the home, but light conversation is encouraged as willing. If delivery is not convenient for one or more of the “cooks”, one of the Coordinators (Dolly or Nancy Jarrell) will handle the delivery. Also, there is the possibility that the family in the unit might change, and if they do, we will update the available information. And if there is a special occasion (e.g., a birthday), we will share that information.
