Back to School Extravaganza

Time: 12:00 am – 4:00 pm

It is that time of year again when we start processing Lost and Found clothing retrieved from the Carmel Clay and Washington Township schools. We partner every year with St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Second Presbyterian Church and the North Mennonite Church to provide school supplies, new shoes, new blue jeans and all the clothing that we process. We care for approximately 1,200 children in the northern portion of Marion County. All this and more services are provided on July 28th.

Each year it takes a tremendous effort from the entire congregation to make B2SE a success.  It requires a number of activities during the course of the summer to prepare for the final event at St. Luke’s Methodist Church.  I have included below a schedule of those events and the number of people we need to achieve this goal.  They are as follows (sign up at bottom):

June 27th Weds. – 9:00 am – noon @ Northminster – Sorting & Hanging clothes – 10 people

July 13th Fri. – 5;00 - 7:30 pm – Family Friday Night - sorting & hanging

July 18th Weds. – 9:00 am – noon @ Northminster – Sorting & hanging clothes – 10 people

July 25th Weds. – 9:00am – noon @ Northminster – Inventory boxing & preparation – 20 people

July 27th Fri. – noon @ Northminster – Load Truck – 6 young people

July 27th Fri. – 4:00 – 6:00 pm @ St. Luke’s – Set up clothing store – 20 people

July 28th Sat. – 9:00 – noon – 1st shift at the store – 20 people

July 28th Sat. – Noon – 3:00 – 2nd Shift at the store – 20 people

This is an excellent opportunity for families to work together on a mission project.  Please be a part of the church team.

P.S.  Please do not forget the laundry bags of clothing to be washed in the Gathering Place.
