Trinity Sunday - June 7th

Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

From Parish Associate Carol McDonald
– with thanks to the writings of theologian Maren Tirabassi

Our worship this Sunday, June 7, will celebrate The Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Trinity is foundational for us as Presbyterians. We do not focus solely on God; we do not concentrate only on Jesus; we do not limit ourselves simply to the Holy Spirit.  We are a people of the Great Three-in-One.

Our preacher this Sunday will be the Rev. T. Alan Thames, Executive Presbyter for the Presbytery of Whitewater Valley. Alan is a graduate of the University of the Ozarks and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. Prior to coming to his current work in 2009, Alan served as a pastor in Ft. Wayne and in Kansas City.

We will share together the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper – Holy Communion – during our livestream worship service at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Before the service begins, you are invited to prepare a slice or a small loaf of any kind of bread to share and a cup or small cups of juice – perhaps grape or cranberry – or wine. Set these elements in your living room or kitchen or dining room or wherever you worship electronically with the Northminster community. You might want to use a lovely cloth or fabric that reminds you of a special time or person. Perhaps light a candle or, next to your bread and cup, place a flower or a photograph of someone you wish to bring into the circle of faith as we share worship together.

May your preparation for worship be a blessing!
