Join Pastor Dave Smazik and Parish Associate Carol McDonald in the Gathering Place at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 31 to meet The Rev. Brian Ellison, Executive Director of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians. This non-profit organization, founded in 1997, has worked for 25 years to help the Presbyterian Church (USA) become a church 'as just and generous as God's grace.' That the PCUSA welcomes all persons into the possibility of church leadership (2011) and affirms marriage equality (2015) are the result of the Network's tireless efforts. Brian Ellison will introduce you to the Network's on-going critical work of doing education and advocacy for LGBTQIA persons in church and society. Brian, a graduate of Harvard University and Princeton Theological Seminary, has served the Network as its Executive Director since 2012. He also serves the Synod of MId-America as its Stated Clerk. His voice is frequently heard as broadcaster/commentator on KCUR-FM - Kansas City Public Radio! Learn more about the organization here.
