Welcome to the Season of Advent at Northminster Presbyterian Church!
The Season of Advent marks the beginning of a new year in the Christian calendar. It is a season of preparation, anticipation, and expectant waiting for the arrival, the advent of the Christ. Our time of waiting is an active waiting where we dare to envision and build a world characterized by hope, peace, joy, and love, the world born out of the imagination of the divine, a world born witness to through the words of Mary the Mother of Jesus through her song found in the Gospel of Luke - the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55). These words will guide our worship and study throughout the season.
Advent begins on Sunday, November 30th, and concludes with our Christmas Eve celebrations on Wednesday, December 24th. This is a wonderful time of year to invite your family, friends, and neighbors to meet you at the church for worship, service, and learning.
