Excerpt from Streets to Home Indy & Rabbi Aaron Spiegel, GIMA Executive Director—
“The recent chaos at the Leonard Street encampment is exactly why now is the time for Streets To Home Indy,” commented Rev. David W. Greene, Sr., President of the Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis.” “Rather than transplanting our neighbors to another temporary encampment, Streets To Home Indy would provide them with the security of housing and services.”
The initiative, led by the Coalition for Intervention and Prevention (CHIP) is a cross-sector collaboration between faith, philanthropy, business, and city entities. “No single entity is able to address the complexity of homelessness, especially now given the federal mandate to pull back from data driven solutions,” remarked Chelsea Haring-Cozzi. “With this broad coalition and commitment, we can end chronic homelessness in Indianapolis.
