Simple Strength with Kim Allen

Time: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Have you heard that weight-bearing activity/strength training can help you build muscle and bone? Are you nervous about lifting weights on your own, or not sure where to start? Join this class for a guided workout of basic strength training exercises in a safe space! All body types and abilities are welcome. Only $10/class! 

Each class will include step-by-step instructions on movements. Every move will consist of "scaled" options to suit your current ability - this means that every move will consist of adaptations to be more or less intense based on where you are now. Movements will use body weight and very light weight (think small water bottles). Light weights and resistance bands will be provided at each class, but feel free to bring your own weights or resistance bands to use. Bring a yoga/exercise mat to define your space (some mats are available if you don't have one). 

  • September 8 - Stabilizing the core
  • September 15 - Lower body (hips, legs, feet)
  • September 22 - Upper body (back, shoulders, chest)
  • September 29 - Total body
