Sound & Spirit: Advent Lessons and Carols

Time: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Northminster Chancel Choir and instrumentalists present the beloved Advent Lessons and Carols service. Advent is a season of both quiet reflection and joyful expectation. The Service of Advent Lessons and Carols is intended to be a time of spiritual preparation, as we watch and wait for the coming of the Kingdom of God. Through our experience of shared Word and music, the story of the coming of Christ gradually unfolds and deepens our understanding of God’s message of love and redemption.

Choral anthems sung by the Northminster Chancel Choir include: “The Lamb” – John Tavener, “His Light In Us” – Kim Arnesen and “There is no rose of such virtue” – John Joubert. Hymns include: “Savior of the Nations, Come,” “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” and “Comfort, Comfort, Now My People.”
